What we do

Four disciplines. One remit.

Strategy, markets, brands and execution are not separate problems, and we do not treat them as separate engagements.

Strategy

Strategy is the argument for doing something at all. Before a market, a site or a partner is chosen, there has to be a defensible reason why this business should exist in this place, and what it would take for that reason to hold for a decade rather than a season.

Most of the work is subtraction. We test the case against the conditions the business will actually meet — capital, calendar, talent, competitors who already hold the ground — and we say plainly when the case does not survive that test.

In practice

Market entry assessment · investment case review · growth sequencing

Markets

A market question has two halves. The first asks whether the customer exists in sufficient number and with sufficient means. The second asks whether the market can actually serve that customer — the retail estate, the supply chain, the labour, the regulation, the landlord behaviour.

Affluence and readiness are not the same measure, and treating them as one is how capital is deployed into places that cannot yet carry it. We separate them, and we are explicit about which of the two is doing the work in a recommendation.

In practice

Readiness review · demand and catchment work · location and leasing judgement

Brands

A brand travels less well than its owners expect. The meaning it carries at home is built from context — adjacency, price memory, who was seen wearing it first — and almost none of that context arrives with the shipment.

The work is deciding what must stay fixed and what must move. Localisation that only changes the language is translation in expensive clothes; localisation done properly strengthens the proposition rather than dressing it up.

In practice

Brand and localisation strategy · positioning for a new market · partner brand fit

Execution

Execution decides whether any of the earlier thinking was true. It is also where most of the damage is done: the wrong landlord, the wrong first hire, the schedule agreed before the operating model exists.

We work inside the delivery, not alongside it — pre-opening sequence, operating standards, the platform that has to keep running after the opening week is over. Good execution is largely visible in the problems that never happen.

In practice

Pre-opening execution · operating platform build · first-year operating cadence

Six capabilities.

  • Strategy and market intelligence

Where the customer is, how they behave, and which markets are ready to serve them. Prioritisation before commitment.

  • Market entry and operating setup

Entity, banking, licensing, imports, compliance, payroll and hiring. The infrastructure that decides whether a strategy can be executed at all.

  • Real estate and location strategy

Location is part of the strategy, not a procurement exercise. City, district, destination, adjacency, landlord and terms, in that order.

  • Brand localisation

Cultural relevance built from the brand's own codes. Never decoration applied afterwards.

  • Customer experience

Experience designed to do a commercial job: acquisition, dwell time, return visits and community.

  • Commercial and operating execution

The part after the recommendation. Openings, teams, standards and the operating rhythm that follows.

When we are usually called.

The market looks attractive. Should we enter now?

Potential and readiness are different questions. We answer the second one.

We know we are entering. Which city, and which site first?

Sequence protects capital. The first location sets the standard for everything after it.

We have the strategy. Who actually builds the platform?

Entity, banking, imports, hiring, fit-out and opening. We stay past the recommendation.

How do we localise without diluting the brand?

By starting from the brand's own codes and expressing them through the market, rather than translating into it.

We are opening stores but not building a regional customer.

Because the organisation is reading countries while the customer is behaving regionally.

We take a small number of engagements at a time. That is deliberate.
